Be Brave and shave for Braxton
Story
Im raising money and awareness for the alopecia areata foundation!
My gorgeous son Braxton was just 12 months old when he was diagnosed with alopecia areata universealis, he lost all his hair except his eye lashes, even the hairs inside his ears and nose are gone. Sadly there is no cure for this. At the very small age of 4 my baby has endured bullying already and is constantly reminded he is different. He is absolutely devastated nobody he knows looks like him. As a mum hearing him sobbing at this age about comments is absolutely heartbreaking so I have decided to shave my head to look like braxy but also to help other people in his shoes.
My shave will take place on October 30th ...
Be Brave Braxton for nobody loves you like I do
All hair donated to AAAF is sent wig makers who specialize in making hair pieces for medical purposes. We receive funds from the wig makers and these go to support our Wigs For Kids program, which provides financial grants to help families with the costs of wigs. So your hair donation helps kids with Alopecia Areata twice!
Be sure to check out the Hair Donation guidelines on our website before you start!
Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc
Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc. (AAAF), is established to be the national Australia body supporting research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for all forms of Alopecia Areata, support those with the disease and their families, and inform the public about all forms of Alopecia Areata.
Our Service philosophy is to give each person the best chance of managing their alopecia journey positively, the whole family and each individual needs to be supported to manage their unique experience.
